The Arc of Spokane is excited to announce a one-evening version of Preparing For Life After High School!
The Preparing For Life After High School program is designed to help parents navigate the sometimes-complex support system for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and create a richer life for their child.
Topics Include:
- Intro to person-centered planning
- The importance of self-advocacy
- Legislative issues relevant to people with IDD and their families
- Supported decision making
- Alternatives to guardianship
- Understanding DDA
- Transition programs/Adulting 101
- Supported employment
- Healthy relationships
